​Ideal application is 1/2 to 1 tsp on soles of feet. Wear socks for 15 minutes after applying. Use at bedtime or apply as needed.

Organic Raw Shea Butter*
Organic Raw Cocoa Butter
Ultra Pure Magnesium Chloride Flakes
Water
Organic Candelilla Wax
Organic Expeller Pressed Sunflower Oil
Organic Lavender Essential Oil (100% pure therapeutic grade)

Magnesium balm can be applied at other times of the day as well as to other areas (back, neck, legs, joints, hands, etc.) to ease inflammation. ​

* A note about shea butter: Shea butter is very sensitive to fluctuations in temperature. If there is graininess in your sleep balm, the balm has not gone bad - it is just from the shea butter! We try to process our ingredients as little as possible, and therefore they may not look like mass produced items. As soon as you warm up your 1/2 to 1 tsp in your hands to apply it, the shea butter will smooth out and be absorbed into your skin. If the grainy quality bothers you, you can take the cap off of your jar and microwave the jar for 20-30 seconds to melt the balm (or place it in a pot of warm water to melt), then put it in the freezer  for a short time until it cools and solidifies again. (This may cause some evaporation of essential oils.) Refrigeration is not necessary, but you can store your sleep balm in the fridge to keep the structure of the shea butter more stable if you would like!

Why use topical magnesium balm?

When magnesium is used transdermally, it is absorbed directly into cells so that magnesium levels in the body increase more rapidly. Because the magnesium does not go through the digestive system, topical use avoids the laxative effects of oral magnesium supplements. Magnesium oil can be drying, but the cocoa and shea butters, coconut oil, and sunflower oil in our magnesium balm hydrate the skin. The addition of organic lavender oil eases anxiety, promotes relaxation, and helps with sleep.
