Jessica Kramer: HAWKHOUSE
HAWKHOUSE started as my quest to make my passion for minerals and creating into a viable source of income to get me through my first long winter on the edge of an island (Martha's Vineyard...I fell in love with an island boy...another story ;)
My little business quickly grew and within a couple years I started hiring family & girls around the island to fill the massive amount of orders that came out of nowhere ( actually out of endless hours of learning and implementing SEO...which is another, less romantic, story)
While I still have my hands in making every piece in one or more ways, I now have a small team of part time girls that love and grace HAWKHOUSE with their unique talents.
About HawkHouse
We use a process called electroforming, where we hand paint a conductive bezel on each stone & then grow copper on it while it's submerged in an electrochemical solution.
RECYCLED
Each ring is hand coiled, cut, sized and snipped out of copper that had a life before it came to us. All of our copper is recycled in the USA.
ECO-FRIENDLY
Not only do we use recycled copper in our pieces, but we use reclaimed materials in our studio & daily life and recycled packaging & shipping materials.
SOURCING
I source the majority of my stones from small miners and countries where they have safe mining standards. I’ve built relationships with miners over nearly 20 years of working in the gem industry.
