Pam:

Pam Cox Art

Like many artists, Pamela started drawing at a young age. Encouraged by her parents, she continued drawing and painting throughout high school and into college at St. Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois where she earned a B.A. in Art. While at St. Xavier, Pamela received the Smith Scholarships-studying through the Art Institute of Chicago. One of the most profound workshops took place in South Wales, U.K. where Pamela studied Letter Form with Master Calligrapher Iuean Reese. This started a love affair of letters and their forms that has continued since college. Finding fonts and their relationship to space while creating unique designs are the foundation of her work.

About Pam Cox Art...

Painted and hand-lettered, these custom cut word blocks are designed and created by a local artist Pamela J. Cox, who lives in the North Buffalo area. Each block of wood is cut, sanded, painted, designed, then lettered-with the wooden whorls and crevices adding extra dimension and character.
